Elongated Dangle Horn Earrings, Orange

These statement earrings are expertly carved from water buffalo horn by women of the Maasai tribe in Kenya to make a striking piece.  Artisans craft these elongated dangles that range in shape depending on the natural shape of the horn.  The vibrant orange adds a striking pop of color to any outfit.  The earrings are bold, but are lightweight.  Each piece is unique in shape and size, making it wearable art.

Maasai women artisans are most known for their intricate beadwork, but their jewelry crafting extends to other designs and materials.  Women of the village learn the artform from their mothers, who learned from their mothers.  Some of the earring designs feature a glass Maasai bead as a delicate accent; each bead color has a deeper meaning for the tribe such as black representing the people and the struggles they endure or green symbolizing health and land.
